Photo Fun!

So a friend of mine, Kathryn Hansen was talking to me about how she has this wonderful camera, but not always many things to photograph. So I told her about how I have all these plushies, but I'm not skilled at photographing them, and so we agreed it'd be great to have her take some photos of the plushies! I loved ALL of the photos she took, but unfortunately etsy only allows us to share 5 photos per plush, so I thought it'd be fun to make a blog post to share some of the other cute fun photos!!

One of the fun ideas they had was throwing them up in the air for action shots! Here was my favorite of those:

Apparently she got alittle carried away one day and bought 22 limes to take a bunch of photos of the lime with some friends!

And this one is just so cute, to see the two of them frolicking :D

This is my absolute favorite of the bunch!!!

Whats new to come!

I was so busy, in May I went to Rome for our 3 yr anniversary, it was really wonderful, and for photos of that trip go to my Deviantart scrapbook.
Shortly after I got back I was asked to do a long term sub position, which between that and my tutoring I had no time at all to sew :( But with the school year over, and my long term sub position complete, I finally have the time to sew again! I've been very busy with some things. First I felt like making more chubby stars. I love making those guys, and I decided to make them in a variety of sizes. Normally they are about the size of a small fist. But I've made some very tiny ones, and they're super cute. I'm going to make more, and perhaps even an albino one for kicks and giggles.
I threw in a pen in the picture to show the size. In addition to the stars I'm working on a donut. It's almost done and I think so far it's coming out really cute! I have it sitting on the table smiling at me whenever I walk by. The sprinkles are these cute beads I found at the craft store. It was actually pretty hard making a donut, and I ended up gluing the glaze part on because it looked really weird when I tried stitching it on. My big project is a happy toaster. I had started this project before Rome, but couldn't think of a good way to execute it before I went. Nocw I've been working on it and I got the hard parts figured out. The top slits were originally going to be actually holes. I wanted to originally be able to put toasty(the toast plush) in the toaster, but toasty is a bit bigger than actual toast and I started to realize it wouldn't fit. So instead I sewed some black fabric inside and cut out strips from the outside to still give a look like there are slits in the toaster.
Today I worked on adding a lever on the side. I used multiple layers of felt and put a pipe cleaner inside it to keep it's shape. Originally I was going to have the lever move up and down, but I messed up where I cut the hole, so to salvage the whole project I just permanently attached it. It would have been cool if it could move up and down, but I was being stupid XD I still have to add a bottom and stuff it. Also the face needs to be sewn on, but this is what I've got so far ^_^

New Car!

I know, unrelated to plushing, but very relevant to life! I just got a new car yesterday and I'm very excited about it ^______^ It's a 2012 Hyundai Elantra, and it's this really nice blue color. Sometimes how the sun htis it it looks blue and purple, it's really cool :D.

Finding time for plushing has been hard lately, although I've made a few things and finished some custom orders recently. I've come done with a cold and I have to start Physical therapy this week... So not sure how much I'll get done. I do get mid winter break soon ^_^ So I'll try to make some Cute Stuffies during that time :D

My Snow Week!

So It snowed almost the whole week and when it didn't snow, there was enough snow and ice that it was unsafe to drive. As a result I got the whole week off! Here are some awesome pics taken from the warmth and comfort of my apt:

And so, I was stuck inside for a whole work. I got lots of chores and cleaning done. I also got in a bunch of gaming(I think its safe to say I'm addicted to Dungeon Defenders XD), and of course there were plushies to make!!!

Here were some ideas I had...

The blue one is a rain drop, he was supposed to have arms, which looked awesome in drawing, but weird in reality, so I didn't add them. He kinda changed shape more than I thought when I stuffed him.

The heart is for V-day, I stuffed it with Polyfil and those poly pellets, the beanie things they have in beanie babies. It came out really nice, it made with more of a velvet like material and its so squishy and beanie!

The furry grey thing, is supposed to be a furry sluggy rock... He looks ghosty like in the picture but it won't really look like that when it's done. I havn't started that one yet, because the one I'm currently obsessed with is the purple one. I don't know what to call it yet. It looks sorta angelic, so my friend suggested the angel squid. It also looks like a crab whale thing when looked at from the bottom XD So I'm not sure yet, but I really like it! I think I'll have to make more in a variety of colors. What do you think?

Vacation time :D

Some of you may have seen that the store went on vacation earlier this week. I'll be coming back to Washington around the 9th of January. For now I'll enjoy my trip to the parents and get pampered in every way. Especially since I caught a cold on the flight over, I'm getting the full works of pampering right now. It sure makes having a cold less horrible.

After getting fully rested and enjoying the holidays, I hope to use the 3hr time zone difference to help me wake up earlier in WA. If I can get used to waking up at 8am in NY which is 5am in WA then I can finally start taking more High school Substitute placements! Yay. Although I like the elementary kids more these days, it's nice to not be around complete children all the time. I'll be subbing as much as I can when I get back(so I can get to the point of a pay raise yay) so commissioned work may be slower, but I still plan to plush as much as I can on days off. That and theres this week off in February for "2nd winter break?/1st spring break" i think they officially call it spring break, but they have another spring break in april, and well february is still winter isn't it? I dunno, but I plan to get lots of plushies done and start posting more on here.

I have a lot of projects I started or thought of that I need to finish and get out there. So hopefully the new yr will be a good one, and I can get lots of things done while still making some good money for the future house i want one day XD

I hope everyone has a lovely holiday!!!! and sorry for any typos, I'm a bit too sick to reread right now XD

Plopling Love Story

This is the story I wrote awhile ago,but never got around to posting XD of the adult ploplings and how they fell in love.

On Plopper Ave, lived two lovely Plopling Familys, one of which had two righty parents and a lefty child named Ploplin. The other had two Lefty parents and a righty child named Plopchen. Ploplin was a handsome yellow Plopling with a big bulge at the end of its swirl. At school Ploplin was friends with everyone, especially the other lefties. Plopchen, on the other hand, was an average looking blue Plopling with a skinny swirl. Plopchen often saw its neighbor with envy and wished it was as attractive and good looking as Ploplin. Plopchen often wished it had a popular plump bulging swirl too.

Although jealous of Ploplin, Plopchen was actually close friends with Ploplin. Growing up as neighbors they had shared many memories together. They were the closest of friends and that in many ways made Plopchen care less about its scrawny swirl.

Every year on Lovers day Ploplin would get lots of chocolates and requests to be mates This would often make Plopchen very jealous. At first Plopchen thought it was a jealousy of Ploplin's popularity, but one day Plopchen realized that it was jealous because it liked Ploplin. Plopchen wished that it too could give Ploplin chocolates, but the union of lefties with righties was forbidden in the land of Ploplings.

For years Plopchen kept these romantic thoughts to itself, only to yearn more and more to be with Ploplin, and getting jealous of every lefty who got close to Ploplin. Then, one day Plopchen decided to risk it all and tell Ploplin the truth. Ploplin was overwhelmed with excitement at the news, because Ploplin had also always had an eye for Plopchen. Ploplin wished always to be with Plopchen, but knew it was forbidden and tried its best to ignore those desires. Now that it was known they both loved eachother, it was impossible for them to resist being together.

Plopchen and Ploplin decided to secretly date. For months they were the happiest Ploplings in all the land. They spent so much lovely time together just enjoying who they are and how they made eachother feel. Then one day one of Ploplin's parents found them together. The parent was very upset with both of them and immediately involved all the parents.

Ploplin and Plopchen explained their hearts out about how much they loved eachother and how they didn't care that Ploplin was a lefty or Plopchen was a righty, that love meant more than direction.

Although the parents hesitated at first, it became obvious to all of them that their children were truly in love. They had concerns of how this would effect their futures, but decided to support them and their abnormal relationship.

Ploplin and Plopchen dealt with various hardships in their life because of their unusual relationship between Ploplings of opposite swirls, but they knew they could deal with anything as long as they had eachother. They lived happily ever after raising a lovely family of their own on Plopper Ave.

The End
